Based both in London and Marseille, in the south of France, James has been shooting on a professional basis for over 6 years.

He has produced editorial and commercial images for a diverse range of clients including The Sunday Times, O2, Esquire, Armani, Candy and Candy, Conde Nast Traveller, Corriere Della Serra and The Observer.

James has received recognition for his work from The Observer Hodge Award, The Schweppes/National Portrait Gallery Portrait Prize and The Fifty Crows Foundation. In 2004 he was The Independent/Wanderlust Travel Photographer of the Year.
